This is the initial sketch I did in my sketchbook. For the most part it stayed true to the sketch, with some small changes and subtractions for simplicity.
After I had it planned out in the sketchbook I redrew it out on newsprint paper in the size that it would be on the watercolor paper (6x18). Once I touched it up and all I used transfer paper to transfer it over onto the watercolor paper for painting.
Once it was fully transferred I drew in some of the dim or smeared parts that happened during transfer and started painting. I haven't really used my watercolors much lately since I have been having so much fun with my inks, so I decided to do a mix of the two of them.
Here is the finished product (click to see a larger picture). I had alot of fun with this one and tried to keep it simple. I wanted it to look kind of comic-like. I cut some mat (I am horrible cutting mat) and put it in some cheap frame I bought the other day and put it away until I actually have a room that I can hang my things in and look at them.
On a different note, I took some pictures downtown around my school for my photography class. Since it has been so cold lately there were alot of cool ice formations and such.
